ITANAGAR, Dec 6: The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) on Thursday demanded the resignation of Panchayati Raj and RD Minister, Alo Libang for incompetency in running the department and for his alleged failure in conducting the Panchayat election on time.
Addressing a press conference here today, APYC Spokesperson, Kalley Rijuju criticised both the BJP government and the Minister for curtailing the right of the common people by not conducting the Panchayat election timely.
Referring to the Gauhati High court directive to conduct the Panchayat election by December 2018, Rijuju said instead of following the court order the present government has filed an interlocutory application seeking time of another six months. He further hinted that the reason for postponement might be due to the state facing huge financial crisis.
Stating that the Congress party will not remain silent while the constitution of the country is being overlooked by the state government for vested interests, APYC spokesperson cautioned that it will launch a state-wide protest against the undemocratic decision of the BJP government beginning December 20 next.
APYC President, Geli Ete in his address, demanded early construction of Potin to Pangin Trans Arunachal Highway and sought the resignation of PWD Minister, Chowna Mein for his inability to complete the much anticipated project.
“The TAH scam is one of the biggest scams in the history of the state and the concerned Minister should take responsibility for the entire mess which has deprived the people of  good road connectivity,” he accused.
He further demanded immediate replacement of the incumbent Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission officials with an honest team of officials to run the most prestigious recruitment agency effectively and with full transparency.
“The recent fiasco in conducting the APPSCCE examination 2017 has brought forward the incompetency of the present commission board members due to which aspirants have lost faith on the institution,” he alleged.
To bring back the lost glory, Ete suggested the government to constitute a new team from retired IAS officers and civil servants with vast knowledge to reinstall the confidence among the common people especially the youth.
