ZIRO, Jun 22: Following a ‘clean chit’ from the Lower Subansiri District Administration which rubbished the allegation that low quality materials are being used in construction of the TAH stretch from ANVA Gate to Pamluk, the All Lower Subansiri Youth Association (ALSYA) has questioned its credibility and sought a high level inquiry to unearth the truth. It can be recalled that a local news channel telecast a story claiming that the quality of sand and stone used for construction of culverts, retaining walls and drains in the said stretch are of low quality. The clip went viral on social media that led to the lodging of a complaint with Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri on June 10 last. Subsequently, the officers of Highway, PWD, MoRTH and representative of Puna Hinda Construction Company inspected the construction site and concluded that the quality of materials used are as per specification and the stone and sands used are of good quality.  While stating the declaration as ‘false and fabricated’, ALSYA in a press release today has demanded constitution of a high-level inquiry team to unearth the truth. The association has also complained that they have not been given an opportunity to participate in the inspection. It seems that the inspection report has been made by the officers involved under influence of the contractor and such irresponsible acts will cause irreparable loss to the government exchequer, the release read.
