TAWANG, Sep 11: A meeting-cum-interactive session on awareness activities for entrepreneurs and small businessmen of Tawang district was conducted on Friday here at the DC’s conference hall.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Tawang, Sang Phuntsok and participated by all banks in the district, young entrepreneurs and officers like DVO, DDI, ADTH and DHO, the meeting dwelt on various schemes being implemented by the government, availability of bank loans and start-up schemes for small and medium enterprises. The entrepreneurs were given information regarding the Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Challenge Programme and were encouraged to participate in it which was followed by an interactive session with bank representatives. Chief Manager SBI Tawang said banks will extend support to the serious-minded entrepreneurs. 
Speaking on the performance of banks in the district, DC said that since their Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio is low, a proactive role is needed for improvement, adding that financial literacy among the people and a little hand-holding can be helpful.
The meeting was followed by District Consultative Committee (DCC), District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Level Security Committee meetings convened by the SBI and Lead Bank office Tawang. The meetings discussed at length on banks’ performance for quarters ending March 31 and June 30 2020 with a review of credit flows, bank-wise achievement of priority sector loans, progress on recovery of loans, PMEGP, PMMY, Stand-Up India Programme, KVIC, NULM, PM Kisan beneficiaries etc.
The meeting ended with assurance from all banks for better performance and support from the DA. DIPRO
