ITANAGAR, Jun 4: In his message to the state’s people on the occasion of the World Environment Day (WED) to be observed on Saturday with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’, Governor Brig. (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has reminded the necessity of taking urgent steps to protect, conserve and restore the pristine natural resources and environment of Arunachal Pradesh.
While stating that the state is an important biodiversity hotspot of the world with highest national forest coverage of 79.63% in terms of geographical area, the Governor has appealed to citizens, students, scientists, NGOs, government departments, researchers, corporate leaders etc. to take pledge for protection, conservation and restoration of the precious ecosystems for posterity. 
I also take the opportunity to implore my people in the state to fully observe corona-appropriate behaviour for staying safe against the pandemic, his message read.
