Roing, Mar 20: A mini marathon for women titled ‘Womenthon- Fit, Fierce & Fabulous’ was organised by the District Administration and NGO Enjalumenda Women’s Empowerment Forum (EMWEF) to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle amongst women, under the Arunachal Rising Campaign. It was flagged of by Tine Mena, the first woman from Northeast to summit Mount Everest and 22 women participated in the run.
Mena encouraged the participants and stressed on the importance of fitness and the right exercise regimen to stay healthy. 
The ‘Womenthon’ was conducted in two categories of below 35 years and above 35 years of age. The below 35 years run category was won by Hema Mito, with Maselo Mihu coming in second and Ani Melo in third position. The above 35+ years walk category was won by Nema Mito. Anita Lingi came in second and Ashinda Miyee came in third.
The event was successfully conducted by EMWEF with the support of RIWATCH, district police and health department.
