ITANAGAR, Dec 3: After the recent successful motorcycle ride by the girl members, Rinu Riba and Rakhe Yagam of Arunachal Bullet Club (ABC), across 8 Northern and Western States of the Country, the Bullet Club members called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan Itanagar today. The riders narrated the experiences of their journey.
Riba and Yagam of ABC started their long and arduous journey from the Arunachal Pradesh Capital Itanagar on 18th October 2021, criss-crossed through the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territorial of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana and finally returned home to Itanagar on 22nd November.
En route during their month-long ride, the girl rider duo stopped at various places, at roadside villages and schools to convey the goodwill message of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and North-East in general. They enlightened the people against racism and promoted the image. They also carried the message of women and youth empowerment, unity and promotion of tourism. The girls sharing their experience said that mainland Indians, especially in the rural areas, have very little knowledge about the people of the North-East. In certain places people asked them whether they were Japanese or Chinese.
The Governor and the First Lady of the State lauded the courageous adventure spirit and zeal of the young girls on their successful accomplishment of the long and difficult ride through the heartlands of the country. The Governor also praised them for spreading the good will message from the people of Arunachal Pradesh to the people along the route of their journey.
The Arunachal Bullet Club was formed in the year 2007 consisting of Royal Enfield Motor Cycle enthusiasts from all walks of life, irrespective of tribe, religion, creed, sex, and social status.
