ITANAGAR, Nov 17: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), while condemning the cold blooded murder of Techi Meena Lishi and her unborn child has appreciated the prompt action by the capital police in cracking the case. The Commission asked the police to investigate further if any person is responsible for abetment of the crime and criminal conspiracy while interacting with Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex, Jimmy Chiram who called on the APSCW team. Issues such as rising crime against women, Illegal flesh trade and drug trafficking thriving in the Capital Complex were also discussed.
The Commission also condemned the assault on a female attendant of a gas station at Tezu Petrol Pump, Lohit District by unidentified miscreant. Such acts are highly condemnable, it said in a statement and requested the Lohit Superintendent of Police to nab the miscreant at the earliest.
Expressing concern on the rising crime against women in the state, the Commission appealed to the citizens to maintain peace and tranquility in society so that law can take its own course of action.
