ITANAGAR, Nov 6: Many cases of abuse of women and children are inter-related and both the Women and Child Commission will make an earnest initiative to work in close coordination to deal with all such cases, said Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Chairperson Gumri Ringu.
Members of the Commission on Friday inspected the Papu-II Anganwadi Centre at Papunallah and conducted a cleanliness drive while observing the Swachhata Pakwada. During the interaction session, children were informed about hand hygiene habits and maintenance of cleanliness in and around the vicinity of the centre and their homes. Jaya Taba, CDPO Naharlagun apprised the APSCPCR team of the various activities conducted at the centre under the ICDS.
In continuation of the Swachhata Pakhwada, the team also visited the Child Care Centre run by Oju Welfare Association and the One Stop Centre, Naharlagun today. The team conducted a cleanliness drive with all the inmates of the CCI and the destitute women sheltered under OWA.
Gumri Ringu interacted with the children of the CCI and took stock of various activities conducted by the CCI for the overall development of the children. The team of APSCPCR also interacted with the destitute women sheltered at Oju. Later the Commission members also conducted an emergency consultative meeting to discuss the AP Guidelines for Sponsorship of Children, 2021 and the Proposed Amendments in Adoption Regulations 2017.
The team consisted of members Jumtum Minga, Ngurang Achung, Yahung Tekseng and was accompanied by APSCPCR’s Member Secretary Khoda Rakhi and Legal Advisor Kani Nada Maling.
