ITANAGAR, Jul 4: Women’s right activist and former member of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, Yapi Doni Kulo passed away on July 4 after a prolonged illness.

She is survived by a daughter, Lily Kulo and two sons, Dr Jibom Haji and Jiyor Haji. Her husband late Alexander Taji Kulo predeceased her. 

Born on 12 October, 1964 in Kulo villager under Upper Subansiri, she started her long career in social work as an executive member of All Subansiri District Girls Students Welfare Association. 

She went on to become a member of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women.

She was also associated with Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society in different capacities since 1986.

Kulo was a excellent cooperator and headed Kadorna Welfare Centre. She also worked with Catholic Association, Galo Welfare Society, Muskan Society. Till her demise she was general secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee.

She also was a member of the Congress party.Kulo will be taken to Kulo village for last rites on Wednesday morning.
