ITANAGAR, Nov 29: The state on Sunday reported three more covid-19 fatalities taking the death toll to 54.
According to the State COVID-19 Bulletin, a 65-year-old man from Lelekujan village, Lakhimpur, Assam died at Dedicated Covid Hospital, Chimpu due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
A 28-year-old female working as a laboratory technician at CHC Mahadevpur, Namsai died at the Dedicated Covid Hospital Chimpu due to acute respiratory distress syndrome. A native of Pushi Nyorak village, West Siang, she was also suffering from severe anemia and hepatic encephalopathy.
In the third case, a 75-year-old male suffering from Alzheimer's and native of Rumgong village, Siang district expired on the way home after being released from the First Referral Unit, Ruksin.
Meanwhile, the rate of new infections has been consistently lower than the number of recoveries. On Sunday, 7 new infections were reported while 41 patients recovered.
