ITANAGAR, Jun 9: Police teams of East Kameng and Pakke Kessang in a joint operation destroyed several acres of wild cannabis plants growing along the bordering area of the two districts, near Sede village.
Huge tracts were covered with wild cannabis this season which were cleared with the help of local village dwellers and Police personnel on June 7 last.
Gaon Burahs from across both districts are also being engaged to spread awareness and to ensure that they do not let wild cannabis grow from next season.
The police team was led by DySP Sepraj Perme and RI(P) Insp Tumki Loya. Magistrate CO David Koyu, APCS also accompanied in the process.
