ITANAGAR, Feb 25: Eminent scientist from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) Dr. J. Johnson during his week-long tour to the Eastern Himalayas delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Wildlife Resources of India and Conservation Challenges’ to the students of capital’s Dera Natung Government College on February 23 last.
The lecture session was conducted by the Department of Zoology. Principal Dr. M. Q. Khan in his presidential address encouraged the students and alumni of the college to reap optimum benefits from the talks. Besides delivering the lecture, Dr. Johnson interacted with the students and enlightened them on various wildlife conservation strategies.
Later in the afternoon, he took the students and faculty to the nearby river and explained the habitat ecology of various water bodies.
