AALO, Dec 14: The District Level Review meeting organized by District health Society on New Covid-19 variant 'Omicron' and its preparedness in West Siang district was held under the chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato today.
Chairing the meeting, the DC stressed on indentifying the civilian, Military and Para military returnees in the district as preventive measures and urged all stakeholders to give collective support in drawing all preparedness measures to prevent the disease. He also insisted on persuading the people who are reluctant to take the vaccine.
The Superintendent of Police stressed on IEC activities in the district to alert the people on the new variant of Covid-19.
In his keynote address, the DMO Dr Dubom Bagra informed that health infrastructure have been augmented well with 100 oxygen beds through two PSA Plants, sufficient equipment, trained manpower etc in the hospital.
Cautioning any laxity about the breakthrough diseases, he sought cooperation of all stakeholders in the district to draw contingency plan to keep the disease at bay as it has been reported in neighbouring state of Assam.
In the interaction session, representatives from ITBP, Army, BRTF said that all returnees are kept under close vigil and positive persons are kept in respective Quarantine Centers. Police and HoDs raised suggestive issues to check the diseases. DIPRO
