Aalo/Roing, Jun 23: The ongoing Covid-19 fightback efforts in West Siang and Lower Dibang Valley districts received stimulus with the discharge of positive patients on Tuesday after full recovery.
In West Siang, the lone positive case was released from Covid Care Centre (CCC) at Circuit House, Aalo amid fanfare in a small function after his report tested negative consecutively for two times. The patient’s sample was taken on May 30 last and after his report came positive on June 4 he was put under CCC. Elated West Siang DC Moki Loyi said that the ailment and not the ailing should be hated and appealed the recovered patient to remain in strict home quarantine for 14 days, follow the self-reporting norms and obey all SOPs like social distancing, wearing of mask and use of sanitizers.
The District Administration wrapped a Khada and put a Galo coat over the patient as a token of appreciation for successfully completing the regimented days at the Facility Quarantine and then at the Covid Care Centre for nearly a month. DC expressed his gratitude to the DMO, Nodal Officers and all frontline workers for giving their best to fight the pandemic in the district. Meanwhile, 34 more samples have been sent for testing and the results are likely to be received within two-three days.
Lower Dibang Valley’s first Covid-19 positive patient was discharged on Tuesday from CCC, Roing after his tests came negative for two successive times and will now be under the mandatory 14-day home quarantine.
He was handed over the discharge slip and other protective gear by DC Mitali Namchoom in presence of In-charge DMO Dr. Ista Pulu and the attending team of doctors and nurses. DMO informed that the patient has been asymptotic and cooperative throughout his stay at the CCC. DC said that as the fight against Covid-19 is a prolonged one, the entire government machinery is working for ensuring safety of the district’s people, adding that any complaint or medical care shortage should be brought to the notice of the authorities directly.
She also appealed all to acknowledge the hard work of the frontline workers to boost their morale. DIPRO
