Aalo, Jul 25: The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Annual Action Plan, 2020-21 for West Siang was finalised during the District Water and Sanitation Mission meeting held here at the DC Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi on July 24 last.
The JJM Annual Action Plan for the district will have 92 schemes covering 573 households with an estimated amount of Rs.3849.45 lakhs. Out of the total number of schemes, 37 are ongoing, 38 new and 17 will be additional need-based to meet up the water and sanitation needs of the district. The DC stressed on the need for timely finalization of the estimate and notification of sources of water in consultation with the Village Water and Sanitation Committees so that schemes are executed within schedules as per GoI guidelines. “Government is giving special thrust on water and sanitation especially during the current pandemic to ensure health and hygiene and we should be able to reap the benefits to the fullest,” he said.
AE PHED Er. Bomi Nyorak gave a detailed deliberation on various approved financial assistances for different components under SBMG Phase-II, Community Sanitary Complex, IEC and Capacity Building, state’s share and various convergence programmes with the line departments through a PowerPoint Presentation.
The DFO and PD DRDA dwelt at length on identifying the water resources and forest clearances and convergence programmes with MGNREGA. The District Planning Officer, AEs were also present in the meeting. DIPRO
