AALO, Sep 30: The West Siang Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato paid a day-long visit to take on the spot assessment of Trans Arunachal Highway works being undertaken by the companies in Package 8 and 9 on Wednesday.
Talking to the company undertaking the Package 9, the DC asked to speed up the work bringing all men and materials this working season to complete the road in time. He also directed the company to monitor all works carried out by the sub contractors to whom they have given contractual outlets stating that the company will be solely responsible for the progress of works.
The district administration will keep a close vigil on the works and the will and aspiration of the people to have good roads for a long time and their patience has to be accommodated. The district administration, executing agency, company and civil society have to work in a coordinated manner to see the long pending Highway works which agitates the minds of people here, he said.
The DC also stressed on completing the works on short cut roads near Darka which was initially taken up by the then Executing Agency. He expressed his satisfaction over the way the TTC is working on Package 8 and asked the company to carry out sprinkling of water on roads to minimize the dust all along the said stretch.
The EE Highway Er. Kago Salu and AE, Er. Gemar Padu and JE TAH updated the works to be carried out and supervised as per time schedule. The representative from TTC(JV) Ltd, Pobin Padu
was optimistic on completing the works entrusted to them in Package 8 on or before stipulated time as heavy machines and manpower is pouring in and a lot of road cutting works have taken place soon after getting the tender. Progress in construction works will be made visible within a few months from now, he said. The company’s engineers of various construction wings were also present during the visit.
