Aalo, Apr 12: Keeping in view the strong possibility of an extension of the current lockdown, a meeting to chalk out the preparedness plan to be adopted by West Siang district was conducted on Sunday which was chaired by DC.
The meeting decided on the modus operandi to be followed in case the lockdown is extended and along with SP & administrative officers, senior citizens of the township, ATPWDS, Bazar Secretaries, retired government servants and NGOs participated.
ADC Liyi Bagra initiated the strategic points to draw public opinion and it was unanimously decided to put all people/students coming into the district from outside in quarantine centres instead of home quarantine. Those coming into the district will be checked with details at Ruksin and other checkgates and doctors, police and magistrates positioned at Hissam checkgate will carry medical check-ups and escort them to the quarantine facilities at IB, SFS College, GHSS and RKM. Students coming from outside the state, affected places and within the state will be segregated and put under classified quarantine facility centres.
The meeting decided that entry into the district from one point at Ruksin checkgate will be allowed and all other routes will be sealed. Civil societies/youth organizations will help the flying squad teams on a sector-wise basis for proper identification and implementation of self-quarantine measures to be followed by those quarantined in their respective homes.  It was decided that entry of vegetables from Assam and neighbouring districts will remain totally banned till April 30 and the Department of Agriculture will continue to procure local green vegetables. In order to ease the department’s burden, designated grocery shops will be chosen in various colonies/sectors and the department will send vegetables to those shops only. Rice and LPG supply will be looked after by the DF & CSO till April 30.

Wearing of masks outside home has been made mandatory for all citizens of the district and those who are not able to manage it must use protective  measures like scarf, handkerchiefs etc while visiting hospitals, ATM booths, banks and distribution places.
Many prominent attendees also extended their valuable suggestions during the meeting. DIPRO
