AALO, Sep 22: The West Siang District Administration has reviewed the rates of various market commodities in a meeting held under the chairmanship of West Siang Additional Deputy Commissioner, Liyi Bagra today. All members of the Market Regulatory Committee were present on the occasion to give their suggestions.
Presiding over the meetings, the ADC said that review of market rates was essential due to hike in prices during Covid-19 peak and communication disruption due to monsoon.
Fixing market rates will not be fruitful unless it is regulated and imposed properly by the enforcement wings to be constituted to check the prices on a weekly basis. Public should give written complaints to district administration instead of trolling and posting their concerns on social media platforms so that the administration can act based on their genuine grievances, the ADC said.
The DA had earlier fixed rates on all commercial vehicles to bring down the fares that were doubled due to Covid-19 protocols and SOPs.
