Aalo, Jan 4: The Aalo Town Peoples’ Welfare & Development Society (ATPWDS) in a meeting today with Deputy Commissioner, West Siang Moki Loyi here at the Conference Hall of DC's office sought an early mitigation of the pressing issues plaguing the township.
Chairman ATPWDS Kento Ete and Adviser Doi Ado brought to the notice of the DC the key issues like prolonged delay in construction of the Aalo stadium which hasn’t progressed beyond the foundation stage, inordinate delay in construction of the Aalo-Pangin Trans Arunachal Highway stretch under Package IX, unabated selling of meat at the township’s entry point, mushrooming of meat sheds in different colonies, unchecked non-traditional methods of fishing, distribution of certificates to Covid-19 warriors and other issues. Ruing over the delay in construction of the stadium, the ATPWDS cited examples of other district stadiums that received sanction along with the Aalo stadium, but have been completed by now and made functional. A team of officers and APPWDS members visited the construction site of the stadium today to take stock of its work progress.
Legal Adviser ATPWDS, Advocate Minrik Noshi and DLR&SO disclosed that the writ petitions filed in courts by the complainants were accepted only for enhancement of compensation and no one can stop TAH construction works that will only result in the twin problems of contempt of court and initiation of police action. The DC assured to take up the matter immediately and liaise with the construction agency. Sumo counters at market places have been shifted to the designated location and upper market counters are being persuaded to shift soon or face legal action and the meat shed in the heart of the township will also be shifted to a designated location very soon, he informed.
Meanwhile, members of the ATPWDS have decided to have a sitting with the Minister and MLAs of the district to pursue the above issues. DIPRO
