Pasighat, Aug 29: The North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIFM) organized a national webinar on “Ayurveda Management in Respiratory Disorders” on August 27 last here in the township.
Director, NEIFM Pasighat Dr. T. Borah gave the inaugural address. Organizing Secretary Dr. Imlikumba stated that Ayurveda during the current Covid crisis has played a vital role and the Union Ministry of AYUSH has given out advisories for boosting immunity for fighting respiratory illness. Director, North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homeopathy, Shillong Professor P.K Goswami as a Resource Person highlighted the rich resources of medicinal plants available in the Northeast and the ways to make the region a powerhouse of Ayurveda. Another Resource Person Professor Lohith B.A., of the Department of Panchakarma, S.D.M College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Hassan highlighted the role of five purificatory therapies in respiratory disorders available in Ayurveda. Principal, Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Guwahati Professor B.P Sarma spoke on Ayurveda’s intervention in chronic respiratory disorders and highlighted the use of various single herbs available locally as home remedies.
