Itanagar, Sep 1: Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) has organised a weeklong webinar titled 'An Approach to Modern and Scientific Coaching' for the state’s football coaches which commenced here on Tuesday and will continue till September 7. 

Gumpe Rime, the legendary footballer from the state who is also an AIFF Coach Educator and currently working as the goalkeeping coach at Reliance Young Champs, Mumbai is hosting the webinar as Course Moderator. Shakti Chauhan, also an AIFF Coach Educator and former coach of the National U-15 Girls team spoke as Guest Speaker on the subject ‘Principles of Coaching and Training.’ 

Former star striker and Mohun Bagan legend who is also Gumpe's colleague at Reliance Young Champs, Jose Ramires Barreto joined the webinar from Brazil and gave his valuable inputs on the vital aspects of football coaching. Earlier, APFA Honorary Secretary Kipa Ajay spoke on the importance of modern technologies in football and advised the coaches to take the best from the webinar and apply them while giving coaching to take the game to great heights in Arunachal. 

The inaugural session was also witnessed by State Co-ordinator- APFA Orin Lego. This webinar is an attempt by the APFA to strengthen the technical knowledge of the state’s football coaches.
