ITANAGAR, Jul 15 : Incessant rain which lashed the state over the past few days had resulted in inundation and continued waterlogging in many pockets and the district authorities along with the local MLAs have swung into action to normalise things.
Places like office premises of D. Ering Wildlife Sanctuary Division, Pasighat are largely affected as a total of eight office quarters of this division are facing rainwater stagnation which has made movements of the residents difficult. Raising concern over the large scale rainwater stagnation, DFO D. Ering WL Sanctuary Tasang Taga said that there is no proper drainage system in and around the offices of the sanctuary, territorial division and CCF office premises which leads to waterlogging throughout the entire monsoon. Taga has appealed the MLA Pasighat East, Kaling Moyong to make a provision for draining out the stagnant rainwater by digging drainage toward Post Office as a part of the Smart City Project through Pasighat Municipal Council. He cautioned that continued water stagnation may become a breeding ground of the carrier mosquitoes of Malaria, Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis.
Seconding Taga, Dy. Range Officer, Orin Perme whose quarter has been largely affected said that they are even unable to go for bathing and toilet as all the residential premises are still under water for the last several days.
