WASE said that, they are not against other industries as it is for overall economic growth, but setting up of a IMFL distillation plant is not a welcome move on the part state government at the time when almost 60% our youths are drug and IMFL addicts.

Joya Tasung Moyong and Omem Ering from WASE stated that, their effort to do away with all such addictions from the district to save the coming generation will bear no result after setting up of such plant in the region.

In their memo submitted to concern minister, WASE has reminded the government and referred the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi where PM has vowed to fight for a ‘Nasha Mukht Bharat’ which is in the ideology of the BJP government to eradicate drug abuse and alcohol addiction. “Now as the state is also governed by the BJP, we highly appeal the minister industry and Chief Minister to cancel the proposed plant. We have already met Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and others on the subject and expressed our opposition of the same after taking general consensus of the public by touring around 17 villages of the region all of which have also opposed the plant. We will keep fighting for the better future of our coming generations,” added Moyong.
