KIMIN, Mar 15:   Reacting to the tragic death of his son, a student of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sher in Kimin who was found mysteriously hanging inside the school’s bathroom on March 13 evening, Ngurang Taluk has demanded justice and a free and fair investigation.
Taluk said VKV authority should come forward and discuss the unfortunate incident. “I have no grudge against the VKV authority, however, this is not the first case in this school. This time my son lost his precious life, so I appeal the authority to come forward for a concrete discussion about the matter, especially how such negligence had occurred so that such incidents are not  repeated in future,” lamented the hapless father. “My son never complained about anything, nor there were any complaints against him, So we, the family members cannot accept that he would take such an extreme step. There were rashes, bruises, cut marks and bite marks all over his body which  prove that he had been tortured, harassed and physically assaulted,” the father claimed.
“We are sure that there is foul play behind the incident, and thus appeal the concern investigation agencies and the  magistrate involved in the case to ensure a free and fair investigation,”  he went on to add, also seeking intervention of the state government.
When contacted, SDPO, Papum Pare (Rural) D Gumja informed that two persons had been arrested already under u/s 306/303 /304 IPC and  JJ Act 75. We have also detained the two juveniles and investigation is going on, he added. When asked about any foul play as alleged by the family members, SDPO informed that as of now they cannot reveal anything and will be able to say about the actual cause of death after receiving  the post mortem and FSL reports.
“We have been informed by the teachers and from the hospital that the deceased was found hanging in the bathroom.  Hoping that the boy might survive, they brought down the body and took it to the hospital,” SDPO informed. He further said that since day one, the police team is taking this case very seriously and the SP, DIG and DG are also in close coordination with the IO of the case.
Meanwhile, Secretary,VKV Arunachal Pradesh Trust, Aparna Palkar termed the incident as very unfortunate and assured to extend all kind of assistance during the investigation to the concerned authority. VKV Alumni Association in its press statement also expressed deep anguish and profound grief at the unfortunate incident.
The 12-year old late Ngurang Paru was a student of Class VI and was the only son of his family. He was a student at the school since Class IV. As of now, the school authority has postponed all academic activities and students have been sent back to their respective hometowns.
