ITANAGAR, Feb 16: Kanubari MLA GD Wangsu attended the Oriah festival celebration organized by the Wancho Welfare Society (WWS), Itanagar unit here at the Senki Park on Tuesday.
Speaking to the reporters, Wangsu rued over the trend that youths of today are more inclined in consuming foreign cuisines rather than promoting and encouraging their traditional delicacies in any traditional festival. Parents should encourage their children to know more about their customs and cuisines and participate in such festivals, he added. “It’s very unfortunate to see the original lyrics of our songs passed down through generations perish over time. This is high time for all the communities in the state to work for sustaining the age-old traditions, songs, customs and food habits,” Wangsu said.
