LONGDING, Sep 21: All Wancho Women Welfare Society Longding (AWWWSL) in collaboration with Wancho Students Union (WSU) and Longding District Students Union (LDSU) organized a protest rally against human trafficking and demanding punishment against rape accused here on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, President –AWWWSL, Satyawati Wangsa said that a 14-year-old minor girl was sexually abused by a person in Naharlagun.The family members of the minor girl are poor and from a remote village of Longding district, so on the pretext of job as domestic help they took the girl to Naharlagun in 2018 but later sexually abused her, she added. 
"After almost three years when the minor returned home, she came with a baby, which is very unfortunate. She revealed the horrific incident of sexual abuse she had to go through," Wangsa said.
While demanding exemplary punishment under POCSO Act,  Wangsa has cautioned denizens not to indulge in any kind of activities involving minors which may lead to their trafficking. She also urged the villagers not to send their wards for domestic work specially minor girl child. 

Wancho Students Union President Pongngoi Joham also urged the law enforcement agency to confer strong punishment against the accused. There should not be any leniency in the case; the accused must get punishment for his crime, he said.
Appealing the villagers not to send their children as domestic help, he also warned of stern action against 'middleman'.
