LONGDING, Apr 6: The executive body of Wancho Council (WC) today visited Senua Noksa village in Longding district to extend relief to the victims of the recent fire tragedy.
Led by WC’s General Secretary Advocate Somnai Wangpan, the team handed over relief materials such as blankets, utensils, clothes etc. and cash to the victims through the Chief and GB. Interacting with the village authorities and affected families, the team members advised them to keep sufficient in-between spaces while constructing houses and form a committee for monitoring the rehabilitation process. The GB appealed to the WC and the state to extend adequate help for an early recovery to normalcy. The WC delegation assured the families to appeal to the District Administration for reissuing the lost officials documents. It has also appealed to the state government to help the affected villagers under various schemes Sarkar Aapke Dwar etc. on priority basis.
Besides WC, various business organisations like M/s NP Enterprises, PSK Enterprises, M/s LK Enterprises and Nocte Baptist Church Association, Poakkam (Tirap) and Longphong Baptist Church have extended support to the fire victims. DIPRO
