Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
Itanagar, Feb 5: The orientation and training of Volunteer Teachers (VT) under the newly launched Padhna Likhna Abhiyan (PLA) was held today at OJU Welfare Association. The target of the Abhiyan is to impart functional literacy and numeracy to non-literate and non-numerate adults in both rural and urban areas across the country in the age group of 15 years and above.
Tori Gadi APO cum Asstt Nodal Officer informed that around 200 illiterate adult learners have been surveyed by OJU Welfare Association under the guidance of Ratan Anya, chairperson OJU. He lauded the DC cum Chairman PLA Komkar Dulom and DDSE cum Member Secretary Mallo Yam Gollo for their support support and cooperation in conducting the training today and also hoped that under their guidance the programme would be successfully implemented in the Capital Region.
