PASIGHAT, Oct 31: Setting an apt example of responsible citizens through upkeep of public property, a group of men of Borguli village under the banner ‘Radang Sirum’ have extended voluntary services by repairing and maintaining the fencing of the Primary Health Centre, Borguli.
Informing about the voluntary efforts, Bolet Tayeng, a member of the group said that the PHC which had no proper fencing was being encroached by stray cattle. “In absence of regular wall fencing, the bamboo fencing was damaged by trespassing cattle and children, needing immediate repairing,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that the PHC is one of the oldest healthcare centres in Mebo Sub-Division which caters to the medical needs of patients from Borguli, Kiyit, Ngopok and Seram villages. The staff at the PHC led by Medical Officer Dr. Austin Tayeng have extended gratitude to the group.
Meanwhile, the PHC is running short of manpower with the posts of 1 Pharmacist, 3 ANM/GNM, 1 MPW, 1 male/female Attendant and 1 Lab Technician still lying vacant. Medical officials of the PHC and public representatives have approached the District Medical Officer, East Siang for filling up the vacant posts.
