ITANAGAR, Jul 3: Joining the rest of the country and world, the International Plastic Bag Free Day (IPBFD) was observed today at Palove village in Pakke-Kessang district.
As part of the event, pictures depicting the adverse effects of plastic on human health and aquatic animals, food chain system, ground water land and air pollution and life cycle of plastics etc were displayed. GPM, Alontupte Boli Nabam appealed to the participants to disseminate the messages among friends and relatives. A cleanliness drive to segregate discarded plastic items in and around the village along with a pledge to minimize the use of plastic were the main activities of the day.
