PASIGHAT, Mar 2: Showing initiative, the villagers of Darne village in Mebo Sub-Division, voluntarily constructed two classrooms for Lower Primary School, Darne to mitigate the shortages of classroom for the students.
Led by Maklung Apum, a young social worker, locals constructed the  classrooms by contributing all required materials without waiting for government assistance after witnessing the problem faced by students. 
A grateful Head teacher in-charge, M. Megu thanked the volunteers for their generosity.
Meanwhile, Jongge Yirang, Dy. Director of School Education, East Siang District also appreciated the gesture and said “Such voluntary act without waiting for government funds will inspire others."
