AALO, Feb 18: Social worker Tulo Gangkak who passed away at the age of 65 years on February 16 was laid to rest at his native Yomcha in West Siang district. Fondly known as ‘Vice Talo’, he was highly regarded for his oratory and social consciousness.
Late Gangkak was instrumental in the up-gradation of Circle Office Yomcha to EAC office. He also played an active role in the capacity of Assistant General Secretary & Joint Secretary of then Kargu Dere, now renamed as Kargu Kardi Welfare Society (KKWS). President, Kargu Kardi Welfare Society (KKWS), Toyi Raksap has deeply condoled the passing away of the great social leader who was instrumental in shaping KKWS.
Born in 1947 at Gangkak Village under Loum Banggo (Yomcha Circle) of West Siang District, he began his journey in politics in 1983 when he was elected as Gram Panchayat Member (GPM) and then again elected as Anchal Samity Member (ASM). In the year 1987, he was elected as the Vice President. He also served as the Cong (I) Block President of 27-Liromoba A/C and Vice-President of BJP. DIPRO
