ITANAGAR, Mar 3: The All Arunachal Pradesh Motor Vehicle Dealers Association (AAPMVDA) in a memorandum today to the Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd) shared their deep resentment over the large scale damages that had been inflicted to the automobile showrooms during the recent anti-PRC bandh in the capital complex.
The association while seeking the Governor’s intervention requested him to direct the state government and the chief secretary to arrange for compensation of the damages caused at the earliest.
Earlier on March 1, AAPMVDA called an emergency meeting at Lekhi under the chairmanship of Tana Pekhi to discuss and assess the extent of damages and losses caused to the automobile showrooms. The meeting was attended by all showroom owners of the capital complex who unanimously demanded arrests of the culprits and exemplary punishment under the provisions of law.
The showrooms of most of the dealers located at Lekhi have been stoned without any reason by the agitators, thereby damaging the glass panels and other retrofitted elements. Expressing their anguish, most of the members reiterated that they have tried their best to contact the magistrate on duty and police personnel for timely interventions, but no prompt action was taken which led to extensive damage of the properties.
The association members unanimously felt that it was a total collapse of the capital complex administration headed by Prince Dhawan and sought his immediate transfer.
The association expressed condolences to the bereaved families of three youths who died during firing and extended solidarity to the owners and tenants of the commercial complexes, showrooms and shopping malls, who became victims of rampant vandalism. ES Newsdesk
