ITANAGAR, Jun 3: Covid vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group picked up momentum in the state today with a total of 6538 beneficiaries getting their 1st dose, 4026 alone in the ICR. However, there was a lone casualty which took the death toll to 119.
A 41-yr old male Covid patient from Changlang district expired today at DCH Pasighat due to Covid pneumonia. He had comorbidities and was not vaccinated with any of the doses. In terms of new infections, there were 364 (asymptomatic 246; symptomatic 118) in total, with the ICR leading with 58, followed by Tawang 50, Lohit 44, Lower Subansiri 31 and West Kameng 30. With this rise, active Covid cases of the state as on Thursday evening stood at 3843. Among the 337 recoveries, Changlang, ICR, Namsai, Tawang and Lower Subansiri were the first five districts with 40, 34, 39, 37, 37 respectively. The state’s discharge tally has reached 24420 after these recoveries. Sample collection has kept the trend of improvement with a total of 7986 collected from across the state.
A total of 1038 individuals in the 45+ age category were inoculated with dose 1 on the day and in terms of dose 2, it was 36. Occupancy status at the CCCs as of Thursday evening was- 58 at DCH Chimpu, 37 at SQF Lekhi, 6 at DCHC Midpu, 5 at DCH Pasighat and 30 at DCHC.
