Aalo, Nov 11: The Upper Primary School Angu, which is credited for having many top ranking officials serving the state government as its alumni, today celebrated its Golden Jubilee year with much fanfare attended by Union MoS Youth Affairs & Sports, Kiren Rijiju as Chief Guest.
Rijiju recalled the 50-year arduous journey of the school which had a humble beginning from a thatched house in 1969, gradually transforming itself as a temple of learning. He complimented the teachers of yesteryears and alumni of the school for their immense contribution for its growth besides lauding the first teacher of the school Rabindra Nath Roy, also present on the occasion. The MoS inaugurated the newly constructed school building and unveiled a souvenir to mark the occasion. 
Speaking on development, he said that although the centre-state coordination on funding of schemes is going well this time, the problem lies in their implementation. He stressed on maintaining traditional houses for tourism attraction and assured to look into the memorandum pertaining to construction of a mini stadium at the school for Pushi Bango people, link road at Doke, construction of a 25-bedded hostel for boys and girls and construction of multipurpose community hall at Angu village.
Minister Education Taba Tedir spelt out the government policy on education and urged the alumni of different schools to adopt their alma maters to infuse dynamism in their functioning. He also inaugurated the newly developed playground of the school.  Minister Industry, Textile & Handicrafts Er. Tumke Bagra disclosed that government is funding organic pineapple cultivation in 5 hectares of land and urged the farmers to avail the facility. DIPRO
