Itanagar, Mar 27: Free diagnostic service and Opioid substitution therapy centre was inaugurated by Minister Health Alo Libang today amidst the presence of DHS Dr M Lego and a host of other officers of the Department of Health including DFW , PD APSACS and staff of UPHC Itafort.
The Minister lauded the team of UPHC Itafort led by Dr Kabak Tamar and hoped that the centre though small will be immensely beneficial to poor people who are not able to afford routine test.
Dr Tamar informed that the OST Centre will cater to Drug addict therapy by giving oral tablet and by substituting injection drug uses which causes HIV and AIDS. He further informed that this programme will help in treatment, counselling and prevention of HIV transmission .
