NEW DELHI, Jul 16: Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri has assured to allocate 100% funds for a slew of projects planned by the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC). Puri gave the assurance to IMC Mayor Tame Phassang who called on him today in the national capital to submit a memorandum on the issue. While submitting the representation to the Union Minister, Phassang briefed the proposed major projects and sought funds for the construction of a municipal solid waste management plant, drainage system on GIS-based master plan for the Itanagar Capital Region and multi-level car parking facilities in various locations of the IMC and others. During discussion, the Mayor informed the Minister that the proposed infrastructure projects will generate employment opportunities for the state’s unemployed youths and also help the IMC to earn revenue. After a thorough examination of the representation the union minister appreciated the Team IMC and assured to allocate 100% funds for the proposed projects. Meanwhile, responding to the invitation by the Mayor, Puri has assured to visit Arunachal Pradesh soon. IMC Ward 16 corporator Tarh Achak and OSD to Mayor Kipa Punung also attended the meeting.
