ITANAGAR, Oct 10: Alleging irregularities in the recently concluded recruitment to the post of 50 Nursing Officers under the National Health Mission (NHM), All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) Papum Pare District unit has urged the state government to initiate a SIC investigation to unearth the whole truth.
In a press conference held on Saturday, ANYA (PPU), president Nilly Likha Robin while welcoming the order issued by Chief Secretary to cancel the recruitment and to re-conduct the same, however suggested that negligence shown while conducting the examination should be investigated properly and accordingly those responsible should be punished as per law.
Armed with RTI documents, Robin revealed that after thoroughly checking the answer script they found out that many candidates with a score of 35 marks were selected for the final round of the recruitment while candidates who scored 50 out of 60 total marks were dropped.
Specifically referring to a case in which a candidate scoring 32 marks in the written examination was selected, but another candidate who scored 49 marks was not, he alleged that it is a clear-cut case of selective favoritism thereby depriving those candidates who have done well in the written test.
He also alleged that the 1: 3 ratio criteria prescribed for recruitment was not followed by the concerned authority while conducting the examination.
He also sought clarification from NHM why no reservation quota was kept for the candidates of Papum Pare district in the recruitment.
Also responding to the statement given by nodal officer NHM that the nursing officer is a Group-B post which does not include in government notification”, Robin said if NO post falls under Group “B” then why were the vacant posts not recruited through APPSC as all Grade “A and B” posts are being recruited through APPSC.
The union also urged the concerned authority to frame proper recruitment rule (RR) for TRIHMS and demanded to make public the departmental inquiry committee report constituted to investigate the anomalies in the recruitment of 50 Nursing officers headed by Secretary APSSB, Mamta Riba.
The union demanded early reconduct of vacant Nursing officer posts by including quotas for Papum Pare district and immediate suspension of the Mission Director, NHM under which the whole recruitment was carried out.
