ITANAGAR, Oct 9: All Kra Daadi District Students Union (AKDDSU) today staged a protest demanding the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board to advertise jobs laying vacant under the district quota since 2018.
Hundreds of students and union members, holding placards, shouted slogans against the APSSB for the delay.
President of the union, Pakyum Talop informed that since 2016, the union has been demanding advertisement of 41 posts laying vacant under the district quota but till date there has been no response.
"Due to such attitude, our newly created district is facing acute shortage of manpower. Also many youths have crossed the age limit to apply for the posts," Talop said.
We had also written to the Chairman APSSB and the Chief Secretary serving a 15-day ultimatum to initiate the recruitment process against the 41 vacant posts sanctioned for Kra-Daadi District but till date no steps have been taken, he added. Today a reminder cum ultimatum has been submitted to the Chairman APSSB with 20 days time to conduct the recruitment process failing which the union has cautioned to launch a democratic movement.
Advisor AKDDSU, Gora Rikham claimed that due to political interference the recruitment was not done earlier in 2016 and after the formation of APSSB all the vacant posts were transferred to the board. Years have passed and the recruitment was delayed and even the APSSB has failed to do so, he said.
"We also appeal to the political leaders not to interfere in the recruitment process to rule out nepotism," Rikham said.
