ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar today visited NHPC’s Subansiri Lower Project to review the ongoing construction activities at different sites of the project. On his arrival at Mohanbari Airport at Dibrugarh, the Minister was accorded a warm welcome by Bishwajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC and Janesh Sahni, HOP-Subansiri Lower Project.
Gurjar visited various sites of the project and took stock of the progress of ongoing construction activities and was briefed about the progress. Representatives of Major Works Contractors engaged in the project also briefed about the quantum of construction activities. The Minister later laid the foundation stone for the start of Turbine Assembly of Unit number 1 of the project and also inaugurated the 160 KWp rooftop solar power plant installed in the new administrative building.
Gurjar also visited an exhibition organised by Farmer-Producers Companies registered for livelihood interventions initiated by NHPC in the field of piggery, sericulture and handloom in the downstream areas of the project.
Representatives of district administrations of Dhemaji, Assam and Kamle,(Arunachal Pradesh were also present during the visit.
