ITANAGAR, Aug 24: The All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Workers’ Union (AAPUWU) in a representation submitted to the state government has  made series of demands for necessary action here on Tuesday.
Addressing the media at the Press Club, Chairman -AAPUWU Tagru Mangming urged the state government to address the grievances of the Itanagar Traffic Warden (ITW), who are on an indefinite strike at the tennis court premises which entered day two today.
Tagru said that the ITWs manage the traffic movement with honesty and dedication in all weather conditions risking their lives, with low wages which makes them eligible to be regularized in their post.
He also urged for increasing the salary of the state’s Traffic Police by two per cent for the current financial year, in view of the services being rendered in controlling the traffic in the entire state
Further, he urged for generating more government jobs and separate regiment for the state stating that the number of unemployed youths is increasing day by day due to lack of employment opportunities. There are more than 57,000 unemployed people in the state, he claimed.
Further, the union also urged the state government to established  CBI branch office in the state capital so that all pending heinous and corruption cases can be solved timely . He also sought  trade route to be opened with  Tibet at Taksing in Upper Subansiri and Koloriang in Kurung kumey.
