Jairampur, Oct 10: As an advance Diwali gift on his maiden visit to Jairampur in Changlang district, the Union Minister, Coal and Mines Prahlad Joshi has sanctioned a Rs 75 lakh football stadium under Coal India Limited corporate social responsibility at the border town of Nampong, here this evening.
Joshi also fulfilled the demands of the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Jairampur by allotting a well-equipped science laboratory. Regarding the demand of a new hospital in Jairampur, Joshi suggested that instead of building a new hospital, the current CHC will be equipped with all the latest equipment in phase-wise manner. He also sanctioned an ambulance that will be equipped with advanced life saving techs for CHC Jairampur, acting on the demand by local MLA Laisam Simai. Responding to the one point memorandum, the union minister said that the letter for coal exploration in the region should come through the CMO. He also invited the concerned legislators to visit Delhi for further discussion on the coal exploration issue. MLA Simai while welcoming the high level delegation said that NE is a reservoir of natural resources and Arunachal is on the top of it. Further divulging on the surplus of coal reserve, he said that wherever digging is made, traces of coal can be found and emphasized on survey and opening of coal mining and trade in Changlang district.
Earlier, the Union Minister accompanied by Simai, Dibrugarh MP Rameshwar Teli (MoS Ministry of Food Processing Industries), Jagun MLA Bhaskar Sharma, DC & SP Changlang, ADC SS Choudhury and officials of Coal India Limited visited GHSS and CHC and interacted with the students and concerned authorities.
