ITANAGAR, Dec 7: All Pakke Kessang District Students Union (APKDSU) has announced a 12-hr dawn to dusk bandh in the District Headquarters Lemmi on December 13 next citing failure to respond to their demands despite serving a five day ultimatum.
The Union is alleging mismanagement in job advertisement under District Health Society (DHS), Lemmi. They are also demanding the transfer of the DMO- DRCHO and immediate cancellation of the said advertisement and its re-conduct as per NHM norms.
Addressing media persons at the press club here on Tuesday, APKDSU President Nera Gumro said "The authority has failed to respond to our demands despite repeated pleas and five days ultimatum compelling the union to call for bandh." He further appealed the public to support the bandh for a greater cause.
Vice President- Thomsa Nabam Techi said the reasoning provided by the DMO is not satisfactory. He said the post allocated by the office memorandum is purely contractual and not promotional.
"Therefore, the DHS should re-advertise the same posts as the rest of the six districts did as per the office memorandum issued by Mission Director, NHM, Naharlagun."
He also claimed that the DHS recruited the staff without any examination as directed by the NHM. Moreover, it selected those staff that are already serving at Block levels.
“The post is not promotional, therefore there should be proper examination and accordingly new staff should be recruited,” he added.
