ITANAGAR, Oct 10: A steering committee named as Galo Gumin Highway and Infrastructure  Coordination Committee  (GGH&ICC) has been formed to provide technical inputs and information for systematic implementation of various developmental projects in Galo inhabited districts by the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) on Saturday.
A total of 25 individuals  from diverse professional backgrounds have been appointed as members of the committee.  Former Secretary GoAP, Er. Tomi Ete has been appointed as chairman, AGM, NEEPCO, Er Tanya Taji as Vice Chairman and Executive Engineer PWD, Kardo Riba as member secretary.
“ To coordinate with the government, executing agencies, the general public, and contractors for successful completion of major infrastructure projects like highways, bridges, major water supply projects, telecommunication networks, sewerage disposal platform, stadium, etc the committee has been constituted,” the GWS stated.
The GWS also noted that Likabali –Bam Road Project and other major infrastructure projects are moving at a very slow pace thereby creating much harassment to the general public.
“ Galo Welfare Society has been steadfast in pursuing better road connectivity in the state and Galo Gumin in particular. During the tenth Galo Bane Keba (GBK) at Dari in 2016, an elaborate discussion was held wherein vital road projects which required immediate attention were identified,” GWS stated.
GWS disclosed that on a community basis under its aegis, a popular road connecting Zirdo with Kadu village was completed. Further, it added,  Koyu –Zirdo road project has been sanctioned by the government following persistent effort.
