Khandu assures to take up matter in cabinet discussion

ITANAGAR, Mar 16: Hundreds of unemployed engineers resorted to protest under the banner of All Arunachal Unemployed Civil Engineers Association (AAUCEA) demanding cancelation of Officiating Functional Junior Engineers, Asst Engineers, Executive Engineers appointed in all the engineering departments of the state.
Speaking to the media, President- AAUCEA, Lokam Kiochak informed that the union has submitted its charter of demands in the form of representation to the state government. However, till date, no positive response has been made by the government. Due to unethical appointments of engineers on the pretext of officiating functional and out of turn promotion, unemployment is rising in the state especially in the engineering wings, he said.
Kiochak further added that the Union is also demanding enhancement of Asst. Engineer post in the entire department in the recently published advertisement through the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. AAUCEA is also demanding Chief Engineer as well as Superintending Engineer post in the Education and Sports Department.
Meanwhile reacting to the protest, Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his concern and assured that the demands made by the union will be taken for discussion in the Cabinet.
