ZIRO, Apr 23: In yet another success against racket(s) actively involved in drug peddling in Lower Subansiri, the district police today nabbed two more drug peddlers, the third arrest in the last one week.
The success came during the course of a normal naka checking at Kardo. SI Tadu John along with the accompanying police personnel intercepted a motorcycle bearing R/No. AR-01D-0952 rode by one Niri Naga (32) with Md. Surhab Ali (34) the pillion rider. During checking 49 plastic tubes and one plastic pouch suspected to be containing contraband substances (Heroine) weighing 16 grams and 64 empty tubes were found from the duo’s possession. Both were arrested on the spot and are currently in police custody for further investigation. A case (No.18/21 u/s 20 (B) of NDPS Act) has been lodged at Ziro PS.
