PASIGHAT, Jul 9: A two-month Training cum Hands-On Internship Programme and Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (AOP) under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) commenced here at the College of Horticulture & Forestry from Monday.
The programmes are the initiatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, aimed at giving boost to the efforts of the entrepreneurs related to agriculture and its allied sectors.
Deputy Commissioner, East Siang district Dr. Kinny Singh while launching the programmes appreciated the initiatives of CHF Pasighat and said that genuine and bonafide hard working youths preferring entrepreneurship should be given chance after proper scrutiny of documents and skills. Dean, CHF, Pasighat Dr. BN Hazarika outlined the basic financial assistance to be given to the 10 selected agripreneurs who in turn would create employment opportunities after getting government assistance.
CEO of the programmes, Dr. KS Mailappa and Business Manager, Nina Lego shared that each startup incubatee will get a stipend of Rs. 10,000 during training and initially Rs. 5,000 would be given to the selected in the first round. The same agripreneur can apply for the second stage where he/she would get an additional fund assistance of Rs. 20,000 making the total to Rs. 25,000.
Speaking about the training, 23-year old young agripreneur Yana Bagang, also an Agriculture graduate from CHF who originally hails from Itanagar said that she had given up pursuing a Master degree course for joining this programme.
