ITANAGAR, Feb 12:  The Capital Police has solved a series of robbery cases and apprehended seven persons including two juveniles in this connection.
An FIR was received on 8th February from a complainant stating that some boys on a motorcycle stopped him and began asking for money while threatening him with dire consequences. When he refused, they began assaulting him and snatched from him cash amounting to Rupees Ten Thousand.
Accordingly, Superintendent of Police, Capital, Jimmy Chiram, formed a special team who swung into action, and apprehended two suspected habitual criminals and after intense interrogation, the duo revealed knowing few boys who are involved in such type of crimes. After two days of rigorous operation, the special team, apprehended 17 suspected habitual snatchers from different locations of Itanagar, SDPO-Itanagar, K Sikom said speaking to the media.
After interrogation, it was found that seven of them are involved in a series of robbery cases registered at Itanagar Police Station. Two of them are juveniles and were released by the Court while the other five have been arrested in the instant case.  The arrested persons are Ngurang Tako (20), Dado Agung (21), Dindo Naru (21), Tassar Guma (19) and Risso Nyidam (21).
The team also recovered several motorcycles and domestic LPG cylinders from their possession.
Further, the SP Capital has appealed to the denizens of ICR to be more alert and keep sharp vigil to contain such types of crime and to immediately inform the concerned Police Station or to dial l ‘112’ (ERSS) emergency number.
