LONGDING, Apr 23: Two houses were reduced to ashes and four partially damaged at Longkhaw village under Longding district today.
The incident occurred around 10:30 am when most of the villagers were at their farms. However, observing the smoke, villagers rushed to the spot and tried their best to douse the fire.
Security officials from Longding informed that no casualties have been reported but properties worth lakhs were lost in the inferno. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained, added an official.
Meanwhile, expressing grief over the unfortunate incident, General Secretary –Wancho Students Union, Ali Wangpan urged the administration to confer immediate relief to the fire victims. He further urged the villagers to be more cautious to avoid such unfortunate incidents in the village.
