ITANAGAR, Jun 6: After a month's time, the Capital Police today arrested two persons in the Hormin Hospital case wherein a doctor was physically assaulted and the hospital vandalised.
The arrestees have been identified as the deceased's husband Honi Appa, 57 and daughter Honi Yaja, 32. However another assailant identified as Tako Apa has tested COVID positive and is in home isolation, said Superintendent of Police,ICR- Jimmy Chiram.
As of now, at least five alleged accused persons have been identified, two were arrested today. All other accused will be arrested soon as sources has been engaged, SP said.
Police team received an FIR on May 3rd last from Dr Tabu Muri that he was assaulted and the Hospital vandalised by a group of people at Hormin Hospital, Naharlagun over the death of one Honi Yania. Upon receipt of the complaint, a case was registered vide Nlg case no.76/2021 U/S 448/323/427/506/34 IPC R/W Sec-4 of Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Medical Service Personnel and Medical Service Institutions(Prevention of violence and Damage or loss of property) Act, 2019 and taken up for further investigation.
On investigation it is found that close relatives of the deceased late Honi Yania were involved in the commission of the crime, the SP's statement read.
